Hundreds of empty spaces have been turned into the magazine-perfect getaways in our designed homes. The difference between a home as a blank canvas and a work of art is a faster sale and higher offers. Here’s one recent before and after staged dining room that takes a room from overlooked to obsessed with!
Before, Staged Dining Room
This staged dining room began with evaluating this room’s best features. The architecture detail in the ceiling and bold light fixture gave us a framework for the layout and space. Furnishings would need to give adequate room for buyers to move through to the kitchen and make the space feel as large as possible.
“In a dining room stage, it is important we give the buyer the scene for entertaining larger groups,” says Margaret Gehr, Founder and Owner of Chicagoland Home Staging. “Our goal for every dining room is to enhance the space and help the buyer imagine holiday entertaining and family meals.”
After, Staged Dining Room
Our design team selected a large wooden table, an oversized rug, plush upholstered chairs, and matching accessories for this staged dining room. Symmetry from table lamps add light and give the walls incredible contrast. Warm woods in the table, buffet table, and chairs match the warm tones in the flooring to make the room appear cohesive and balanced.
“Buyers now have space to move around the expansive table and chairs because of the elongated arrangement,” says Kathy Lobkovich, Co-Owner of Chicagoland Home Staging. “Glass cabinet doors also add reflection and the appearance of space as the buyer moves through the room.”
