Chicagoland Home Staging had the privilege to recently work on a property in the highly desired area of Hinsdale. This house worth over 1-million dollars was having trouble finding a new buyer. The property had been on and off the market for over a year before hiring our team to properly prepare and showcase the home for sale.
Our home staging process turned this slow moving property into a desirable space, helping it sell within 7-weeks after staging it.
The process was simple. We worked with the homeowner to help provide the best possible position for this property on the market. Prior to staging this home embraced a more traditional design style. Featuring dark woods, heavy looking furniture and a historical color palette. Today’s buyers desire light and airy spaces something this home was not showcasing in its current state.
Our team required the property be repainted and the homeowner’s furnishings be removed to make way for pieces that fit more inline with this neighborhood’s buying demographic.
Notice the difference between the living room photos above in this Hinsdale home staging. Which would you prefer? Our team chose to stick with a neutral color palette. The walls were freshly painted in a light greige color. We then mimicked the hue with a grey upholstered sleek couch and matching modern chairs. The rugs we choose still followed a traditional pattern, despite being in a fresh modern color today’s buyers love. We completed the look with abstract art, marbleized tables, plus, played with patterns and textures in the accessories. Notice how we used the same colors that extended into the formal dining room and beyond.
